Joan of Arc is a French national hero, a Catholic Saint, and has been described as one of the bravest women to have ever lived. She led multiple battles that saved the French throne when it was under siege during the Hundred Years’ War. To do so, she dressed in men's clothing and ignored the norms of the day.
Joan was ultimately burned at the stake when her brazen lifestyle was branded heresy… only to be canonized later when the Pope recognized her incomparable bravery and selflessness.
